Stories from the Lyon Register

Rothesay Herald, Liam Devlin

Created by Act of the Scottish Parliament in 1672, the Public Register of All Armorial Bearings in Scotland contains every coat of arms in legal use in Scotland for 350 years. Behind every coat of arms is a story, whether of a community, a local authority or an individual, from Nicolson of Lochend to Donald Trump, from Neven of Shousburgh/Skousburgh to Sir Sean Connery. This short talk will look at some of these heraldic stories which form part of our unique Scottish heritage.
